Hi Marie,
having teenagers myself I know how the same old thing can get old. Have you thought about putting away the textbooks for awhile. Have her (or him) pick a topic and make a notebook. Include anything they want – pictures, artwork, reports, etc. Make models, explore the topic and just have fun!
