My 3 year olds favorite animal is the cow. I’m not sure why, but it is. He has 2 stuffed animals named moo-juice and half n half (that one is black and white).
MY favorite animal is a polar bear. You gotta respect an animal that swims in that water for fun, protects her children ferociously, can eat and still keep it’s “white”… well, WHITE, knows that the fatter the better (ha!) and is at the top of the food chain in its realm.
Now, my 4 yo’s favorite animal would be, for now, the pig. This all stems from his recently receiving a Fur Real Friend — little piglet that makes noise and such.
My 9 year old said his is the platypus. Why? Because they look like lots of animals all combined.

My kids recently saw a national geographic clip online about Beach Worms. ever since, they have been quite fascinated with this bizzare creature and have been learning all they can about it.
Here is my children’s list of their favorite animals:
15 dd favorite animal is a rabbit;
10 ds favorite animal is a shark;
8 ds favorite animal is a dog;
6 dd favorite animal is a kitten;
My 2 dd likes to act like a “doggie” at times. He does make a cute doggie tho!
My daughters’ favorite animal is the deer. They love to look for deer along side the road when we are driving. Every time we go to a park…they are looking to see if there are any deer though. I think this might be because they watch so many hunting shows with their Daddy. He’s got them both wanting to go deer hunting with him when they get bigger. No problems in my house when Bambi’s mother got shot by the hunter.
My little boy’s favorite animal is a mouse. I know this is more of a rodent than animal but he loves them all the same. He sleeps with a giant red mouse & takes it everywhere!
He’s second favorite is a Panda Bear.
My 17 year old – Dalmation Dogs – she is doing her room in dalmations – ever since she saw 101 dalmations when she was 3, she has loved them.
My 7 year old – Cobra Snake and sharks – because they are cool
My 5 year old – Zebra – because he is cute
My 3 year old – monkeys – because they act all crazy
Not that you asked but mine is the monkey, I always wanted one as a child because they were so interesting to watch and play with.
My five year old’s favorite animal is a dog. He has many stuffed animal ones and they are all named “puppy”. Also, McDonald’s kids meals apparently have dog toys right now, and I have been asked everyday for the last week—Mom, can we go to McDonald’s today? I want to get one of those puppies!
My favorite animal is not my own, less work that way. LOL! Katie (20) loves cats, and has surprised us with 3. Kasie (19) loves the stuffed variety, because they are easy to care for. Kalie (8) loves them all, but is partial to turtles. We have a dog, 3 cats, a hamster and fish. She wants 2 goats, 6 chickens, and a turtle or 2. Kalie LOVES all animals and wants to own a zoo someday.
My son’s favorite animals are turtles. All kinds, but especially sea turtles.
)
He has 2 aquatic turtles, Fred and Sheldon, that he spends hours everyday talking to, feeding, watching, etc.
He wants to grow up and be a marine biologist so he can study (and swim with) sea turtles.
My sons favorite animal is kangaroo because he is always bouncing/jumping around and I used to call him my little kagaroo. Now he has even made a song up about a kangaroo which is just him repeating the word over and over and saying I love my kanagroo.
My daughter, Krista (10 yrs. old) loves all animals. She isn’t sure which is her favorite. She says maybe cats because she has one of her own. She thinks she might want to be a vet when she grows up.
Karly (4 yrs. old) says she likes polar bears the best. She learned about them at the library at story time last week.
How fun! What a neat list of animals. Isn’t it funny why kids choose certain ones? I love the post on the worms – too cool!!
belinda
My daughter Gabby loves Panda Bears because of a trip to the Smithsonian Zoo.My son David loves Cheetahs because they are fast.
We love reading and learning about all kinds of animals and we enjoy birdwatching in our backyard. My favorite bird is the Eastern bluebird, mostly because they are the color of my late father’s beautiful blue eyes and seeing the bluebirds always remind me of Dad.
We went to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago a couple years ago and we all LOVED the Beluga whales. They were absolutely fantastic to watch!
When I ask my children what their favorite animals, they said:
Taylor, dd10, likes horses.
Baylee, dd8, likes cheetahs the best, though she really has a soft heart for ALL animals.
Braxton, ds6, likes tigers.
Trinity, dd4, likes elephants.
At one count when my kids were small, we had a total of 74 animals on our “farm.” I guess it was more like a zoo. We took them on outings to be “petting zoos” for different causes, and we loved them all. Our family favorite was my then nine year old daughter’s horse, Image. Lauren donated Image to a handicapped riding facility where within a couple of weeks, Image had broken through to two autistic kids who began talking, but only at first to Image. They made amazing progress, and after a long and productive life, Image passed away in her pasture at the ripe old age of 23.
Our favorite animals in this house are guinea pigs-me-because i raised them as a child, my 7 yo dd loves elephants because thy’re cute, and both her and my alost 5 yo dd LOVE sheep because of everything-the way they sound , feel, look, etc. My 5 yo sleep with her own personal flock (stuffed) every night.
I love animals almost as much as I love kids!
We have 4 dogs and 2 cats right now. But I wish I had some pygmy goats and chickens.
My dd 11 loves all animals and wants to be a vet. Her fav is her dog, she’s always reading about how to train and take care of them, even the different breeds.
My ds 9 likes turtles, he used to have 2 but they died when we moved this last year.
My ds 7 has recently found a love for horses. We have a big book on the different types and he is always looking to see which one is his fav.
My ds 5 likes tigers for their stripes and they are cool.
Favorite animals:-
15 yo dd: dogs…because they are smart, useful, and you can play with them.
10 yo ds: birds…because there are so many varieties and they are colorful.
7 yo ds: squirrel…because it’s cute and chubby like a fur ball.
My daughter’s favorite animal is the Polar Bear. She loves watching the babies play with each other and thinks they are “so cute”. She even has a stuffed polar bear that she has named “Shiver”.
I have five year old and a three year old they both love crocodiles. Whenever they see any lake or water they automatically think crocodiles. Don’t know why but they love them. They even play on the couch whoever gets off gets bitten by crocodiles.
I have three children. My oldest daughters (9) favorite animal is a dog, to be more specific a golden retreiver. My other daughters (8)favorite animal is a pig she has loved pigs since she was very little , we collect anything and everything that has to do with pigs. my sons (4) favorite animal is also a dog (rottwieler) not sure i spelledthat right.
My dd favorite animal is a cat. She loves to cuddle with her two cats and thinks they are so snuggly.
Our favorite animals are cats because they are cute and they purr a lot
My favorite animal is a horse, my sons is a dog. He is obsessed with the new Hotel for Dog toys from McDonalds
My 7 yr old son had a difficult time picking a favorite, he loves them all. He decided to go with penguin for today.
He likes the fact that they “fly” underwater.
If I ask him tomorrow, he will probably pick a different one.
My 5-yr old dd has been completely fascinated with giant squid for at least 6 months now. We actually found a stuffed animal giant squid for her for Christmas, which she sleeps with. She begs to watch Discovery Channel shows that I have recorded about giant squid and she knows tons of giant squid statistics. I have no idea why (it would certainly NOT be my favorite pick) . . . she says “They are just COOL!” My 3-yr old dd loves butterflies — she constantly wants more butterfly books from the library.
My daughter is 6 and absolutely LOVES kangaroos! I really can not pinpoint why, she just adores them!
When I first read this I thought you were asking for my favorite (the otter) but then I re-read it and immediately knew the hippo was my 4-year old’s favorite and has been for two years now. He is very loyal to Penelope (the hippo at our local zoo). My 2 1/2-year old’s favorite animal is a raccoon (apparently we have a mystery one living in the house who gets blamed for everything that is not good right now as in who colored on this wall? Standard response: Maybe the raccoon did it.
My kids love all animals – but their favorites are:
11yo dd: blue whale
7yo ds: cat
4yo dd: horse
2yo ds: horse
